The exercises that take place in artistic kids gymnastics will depend on the preparation phase in which the children are. As they train and develop their skills, the difficulty and distress of the exercises will increase. These activities are divided into three stages: primary, acrobatic and artistic.
The necessary gymnastics aims to achieve a high level of physical preparation. Like other sports, it also strengthens health and contributes to the development of motor functions and physical qualities.
In the acrobatic phase, more complex exercises are introduced, which include balancing, turning, touching, aerial and semi-aerial practices. To do this, children are already being started using various gym equipment, as well as mattresses and trampolines.
The musical stage, in addition to increasing the level of the exercises, introduces various modalities of competence. For example, by teams, or individuals with devices.
Although artistic gymnastics is a sport for both boys and girls, it is different for each sex. Not only compete separately, as in other sports but also perform various exercises. While the practices carried out on the ground are similar, boys and girls will have specific modalities and with multiple activities in their acrobatic performances.
In the case of girls, they will participate in four modalities: horse (or horse jump), balance beam, asymmetric bars and hands-free.
On the other hand, children will have six modalities: rings, parallel bars, fixed bar, hands-free, colt, and hands-free.
As parents, we must take into account several aspects when it comes to targeting our children in this sport. Of course, it will have to be fundamental, that they like it and feel motivated to practice it. That is not an obligation and that the physical load adapts to your level of development.
For this, we will have to consider where we are going to write them down carefully. Thus, we will make sure that the teacher or trainer has experience in rhythmic gymnastics, which the gym has the necessary equipment and, above all, with the appropriate safety measures.
Rhythmic gymnastics is a sport that demands a lot of commitment and discipline. On many occasions, children will want to skip classes or even leave them altogether. Therefore, the most important thing is that they have the support and encouragement of their parents.
