Artistic Gymnastics For Boys And Girls, What Differences Are There?

Although artistic gymnastics is a sport for both boys and girls, it is different for each sex. Not only compete separately, as in other sports but also perform various exercises. While the practices carried out on the ground are similar, boys and girls will have specific modalities and with multiple activities in their acrobatic performances.

  • In the case of girls, they will participate in four modalities: horse (or horse jump), balance beam, asymmetric bars and hands-free.
  • On the other hand, children will have six modalities: rings, parallel bars, fixed bar, hands-free, colt, and hands-free.

As parents, we must take into account several aspects when it comes to targeting our children in this sport. Of course, it will have to be fundamental, that they like it and feel motivated to practice it. That is not an obligation and that the physical load adapts to your level of development.
